Preparation
Place each rice in a separate small plastic or cheesecloth bag.
Place all other ingredients, combined, in another small plastic bag.
Tie all 3 bags together into one bag with the following directions on a small card.
Directions:
Soak both rices in separate bowls of cold water for 1 hour. Mince shallot and garlic. Saute both in a little oil for 1 minute. Add wild rice. Cook another minute. Add 2½ cups (625 mL) cold water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer; cook, uncovered, ½ hour. Add white rice and the package containing all other ingredients and 1¼ cups (310 mL) hot water. Stir; bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 15 to 20 minutes. Serve at once
