Preparation
Combine the sugar, lemon and apple juice in a pan and bring to a boil. Allow to simmer until the volume is reduced in half.
Add the apples, pears, onion, cinnamon stick and ginger. Simmer uncovered for about an hour or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Serve warm with grilled pork.
